My Story

One of my BFFs, the gorgeous inside-and-out Ms Olivia Ware, has set up a charity called Many Minds.  Many Minds uses performing arts as a tool to promote positive mental health and to help reduce stigma and discrimination surrounding all things mental health.   The charity runs workshops, weekly sessions and have made performances with and for young people and adults who identify with mental ill-health and/or experiences of homelessness.

I went to watch one of the Many Minds plays that Olivia set up in Bristol at the beginning of last year and her dedication and committment left me in awe.  I met some of the people she was working with and I was inspired by them all and their stories, and could see how much working with Olivia and her colleagues on something creative and thought-provoking was a proving such a positive antidote.

It seems totally apt that she would branch out to develop her own charity - but at such a difficult time with goverment cuts etc to the charity industry I can't believe how much she is already smashing it with all the people she is helping; Many Minds have performed to over 200 people in the last five months alone!

I really want to see the charity grow to help more individuals and to get the message out to even more audiences on such a relevant and often misunderstood subject.  So .... I asked Liv how I could help and she suggested ... a 50 km sponsored bike ride.  In the middle of the night.  I mean, I don't even own a bike!  But I will not let that stop me, and, with your help, we can raise some decent cash for a brilliant charity and really make a difference.  For more info on the brilliant work Liv and her friend Viki are doing go to www.many-minds.org

Sponsor me if you can!  No amount too big, none too small.  Thank you! xxx
